Casey has worked with organizations including Kellogg’s, Viacom Media, the Kauffman Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the PR Society of America, the US Department of Agriculture, and many more. Her writing advice has been featured by Harvard Business Review, the Nonprofit Communications Report, and the How to Be Awesome at Your Job podcast. Casey serves on the Board of Directors at the nonprofit Center for Plain Language and teaches writing at Georgetown University’s School of Nursing.

Grace Aldridge Foster

Co-founder & Principal

Grace has been training writers for over a decade. She has worked with organizations including UPS, the U.S. Special Operations Command, Capital One, Johnson & Johnson, Biogen, the Aspen Institute, and the National Parks Service. A member of the Center for Plain Language, Grace serves as a judge for the annual Federal Report Card and ClearMark Awards, scoring Federal agencies and other organizations on their ability to communicate clearly to their online audiences. She has master’s degrees in English from Vanderbilt University and Georgetown University, where she is now a regular guest lecturer. Grace is a Careers and Leadership Contributor for Forbes.

Marielle Nogay

Instructor

Marielle has been helping writers become better communicators for her entire career. Most recently, she has worked with organizations including the Aspen Institute, Porter Novelli, GMMB, the Inner City Fund, and Capital One. She has an M.A. from Georgetown University, an M.Ed. from The George Washington University, and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. As an Instructor at Bold Type, Marielle coaches writers one-on-one and leads writing workshops. She takes great pride in helping people develop strategies to become more confident writers.

 

Nick Reich

Instructor

Nick has coached writers across the professional gamut, from senior rocket scientists to college professors. Nick has worked with Providence Equity, the Aspen Institute, and the General Services Administration (GSA). Before working on his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University, Nick was a technical editor at NASA helping aerospace engineers publish their research. A lead engineer for the James Webb Space Telescope once said, “Nick understands what I want to write, but also what I need to write.”

 

Jonathan Tomick

Instructor

Jonathan has helped professionals with written and verbal communication as an instructor, coach, and instructional designer. Since earning degrees in English and Secondary Education from Vanderbilt University, Jonathan has supported writers working in global communication, education, non-profit fundraising, mental health care, and more, at organizations including UPS and Johns Hopkins University.
